The Geothermal-Alliance Bavaria has written a position paper on the referendum in August 2018 on the Puchheim geothermal project. It includes a chronological compilation of the significant events and arguments of the stakeholders involved. The paper does not aim to identify and evaluate the reasons that ultimately led to the outcome of the citizens’ initiative, rather the compiled arguments are intended to provide information on what can stand in the way of the expansion of deep geothermal energy and where there is a need for research.
