logging

When you access this or other websites, you transmit data to the web server via your internet browser. The following data is temporarily recorded in a log file during an ongoing connection for communication between your internet browser and our web server:

  • IP address of the requesting computer
  • Date and time of access
  • Name, URL and amount of data transferred of the retrieved file
  • Access status (requested file transferred, not found, etc.)
  • Identification data of the browser and operating system used (if transmitted by the requesting web browser)
  • Website from which access was made (if transmitted by the requesting web browser)

The data in this log file is processed as follows:

  • The log entries are continuously evaluated automatically in order to detect attacks on the web server and to be able to react accordingly.
  • In individual cases, ie in the case of reported faults, errors and security incidents, a manual analysis is carried out.
  • Log entries older than seven days are made anonymous by shortening the IP address.
  • The anonymized logs are used to create access statistics. The software used for this is operated locally by the LRZ.

The IP addresses contained in the log entries are not combined with other databases by the LRZ, so that the LRZ cannot draw any conclusions about individual persons.

Contact requests / contact options / online forms

If you contact us via the contact form or email, the data you provide will be used to process your request. Providing the data is necessary for processing and answering your inquiry – without providing it, we cannot answer your inquiry at all or only to a limited extent.

The legal basis for this processing is Article 6 Paragraph 1 Letter b) GDPR.

Your data will be deleted if your request has been answered conclusively and the deletion does not conflict with any statutory retention requirements, such as in the case of any subsequent contract processing.
