Geothermal Alliance Bavaria at the European Geothermal PhD Days in Leoben
The European Geothermal PhD Days (EGPD) is an annual European networking and training event for PhD students and early-stage researchers in the field of geothermal energy. Since 2010, the event has brought together young scientists from various countries to exchange research findings, establish new contacts, and discuss current developments in geothermal energy. This year, the EGPD took place from April 7 to 10, 2026, at the Montanuniversität Leoben in Austria.
The Geothermal Alliance Bavaria was also represented there: Nora Medgyesi was awarded a poster prize for her contribution on the potential of NextGen EGS with horizontal drilling and multistage stimulation for German heating networks. We extend our heartfelt congratulations and thank the organizing team at the Montanuniversität Leoben for the successful event.
