Knowledge Transfer 2025 / Closing Event of the 2nd Funding Phase

Knowledge Transfer 2025 / Closing Event of the 2nd Funding Phase

On Monday, February 10, we had a great knowledge transfer to complete the 2nd GAB to a funding phase. Ten scientists and three invited guests from the industry presented the methodology, findings and application of our research in deep geothermal energy.

Thank you for the great interest with a full lecture hall and a record number of participants online!

We have achieved the following in the past four years:

  • Subproject efficient has built and measured prototypes and test stands for plant components for the versatile and efficient use of thermal water.
  • Subproject regional examined the Haßberge thermal anomaly by gravimetry as well as in the GranitLab analog outcrop for its suitability for an EGS pilot project.
  • Subproject social simulated possible seismic effects of hydrothermal use on buildings in the Munich area, taking into account local magnitude, soil amplification effects and building type.
  • Subproject long-term evaluated the influence of pore pressure and stress field on drilling problems, measured the fracture strength of rocks and analyzed hydraulic-chemical effects between injection and production wells. All these parameters serve as input for a THMC model.

We would like to thank the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts for their financial support, our industrial partners for the necessary data basis and our researchers for their commitment!
Now we continue with full focus on the third funding phase!
